Busy bees!

In 1Peach we have been super busy bees this week. We have been learning and doing lots of exciting things in class and out!

Yesterday was our trip to the Toy Museum, we took so many photos it has taken us two sessions to look at them all! A selection are on the blog here but please feel free to come in and look at the slide show on the computer. I will put it on at the end of the day for the next week!

We have also started doing a spotlight session each Wednesday on a different child. Last week was Sajidah and this week it is Jahed. The children have been helping me with this as they did it last year in Reception, it is just a nice opportunity to have a chat and find out more about each other. That is also hanging up in our classroom for you to come and see anytime. At the end of their turn, the child will bring their 'spotlight' home with them for you to see and maybe display somewhere! A warning though, they are quite big!

The children may have told you about Miss Ashworth, we have been lucky enough to get her and she will be here every day until Christmas and then will be coming back again after the holidays. She is doing lots of different work with groups so ask your child if they have worked with her yet?

A big thank you to all the parents in Peach class, everyone paid their £2 to contribute towards the cost of the coaches! Thank you all so much!

It was lovely to have a go on the rocking horses, although the queue was quite long! Lots of children from other school wanted a go as well!

All the children enjoyed dressing up!

We enjoyed our spotlight session with someone from the museum, we got to play with some of the old toys and find out more information about them!

We have also got a new addition to the class. Tigger is our class puppet and every night he goes home with a child and they write what exciting things they do with Tigger at home and draw a lovely picture! Each child will get a turn and then we will have a lovely class story book about Tigger! The children want to add to the collection so by the end of the year we may have a family of puppets!

We have been learning about time and lots of the children found it tricky. This is something you can practise with them at home, looking at the clock and saying the times together or asking them what time it is during familiar daily routines, e.g. when you leave the house in the morning, when their favourite tv programme is on etc...

Hajer
There was a bit of a sad start to the week this Monday, lots of children hadn't done their homework. Please make sure you do it with them over the weekend, it shouldn't take very long. A big thank you to the parents who make sure their child hands in their homework every single week!

Amazing artists

Your child should have come home with their final piece of art work before half term ended. I am so impressed with the standard of our mini Kandinsky's!

We used paint and charcoal over the half term and worked very hard to make sure the shapes were bold and stood out. Here are some pictures of us creating our masterpiece. Don't they all look wonderful together on the carpet at the end of the lesson?

I hope you have displayed your child's piece somewhere in the house. They are all beautiful!
